1. 아 하나님의 은혜로 이 쓸데 없는 자

왜 구속하여 주는지 난 알 수 없도다

 

(후렴) 내가 믿고 또 의지함은

내 모든 형편 아시는 주님

늘 보호해 주실 것을 나는 확실히 아네

 

2. 왜 내게 굳센 믿음과 또 복음 주셔서

내 맘이 항상 편한지 난 알 수 없도다

 

3. 왜 내게 성령주셔서 내 마음 감동해

주 예수 믿게 하는지 난 알 수 없도다

 

4. 주 언제 강림하실지 혹 밤에 혹 낮에

이로 말미암아 내가 또 이 고난을 받되 부끄러워하지 아니함은 내가 믿는 자를 내가 알고 또한

내가 의탁한 것을 그 날까지 그가 능히 지키실 줄을 확신함이라(딤후1:12)

1. I know not why God's wondrous grace

to me he hath made known,

nor why, unworthy, Christ in love

redeemed me for his own.

 

Refrain:

But "I know whom I have believed,

and am persuaded that he is able

to keep that which I've committed

unto him against that day."

 

2. I know not how this saving faith

to me he did impart,

nor how believing in his Word

wrought peace within my heart.

 

3. I know not how the Spirit moves,

convincing men of sin,

revealing Jesus through the Word,

creating faith in him.

 

4. I know not what of good or ill

may be reserved for me,

of weary ways or golden days,

before his face I see.

 

That is why I am suffering as I am. Yet this is no cause for shame, because I know whom I have believed,

and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until that day.(2 Timothy 1:12)
